The Impact of 4 Years of Warfare on the Russian Federation (Part II)
Thu., Apr. 23, 2026, 12 – 2:30 p.m.
Russia’s war against Ukraine entered its fifth year. The effects of the war in the two countries cannot be fully assessed until the conflict ends, but at this point, there is no doubt that four years of warfare — the largest European conflict since 1945 — have produced far-reaching changes in the Russian Federation, Ukraine, and Western organizations.
This two-day workshop focuses on the changes the war has already brought in Russia in four crucial areas: (1) politics and ideology; (2) the armed forces and state security organs; (3) the economy; and (4) demography and population movements. This part of the workshop segment will begin with a 15-minute presentation on the most important changes in that area, followed by one or two 5-minute commentaries.
