A distinguished physician, public health leader, and advocate focused on making loneliness, social isolation, and youth mental health national public health priorities. He was the first Surgeon General of Indian descent, and is author of the best-seller “Together: The Healing Power of Human Connection in a Sometimes Lonely World”.
