The Future of Labor in America and Abroad: A Discussion with Rick Levy & Gladys Cisneros

How are workers and labor movements adapting to a changing economy at home and around the world? Join the Institute of Politics for the next installment of our Food for Thought lunch series featuring Rick Levy, former President of the Texas AFL-CIO, and Gladys Cisneros, Chief of the Labor Migration Branch at the International Labor Organization.

Drawing on their experience in the U.S. and internationally, Levy and Cisneros will explore the changing labor movement, from organizing and worker power in the United States to labor migration, workers’ rights, and protections for workers around the world. They will also look at the role unions are playing in critical issues facing working people such as climate change, AI and immigration. The conversation will examine how unions, policymakers, and international institutions are responding to a changing economy and what the future may hold for workers in America and abroad.

Lunch will be served.
