Harvard Community Seminar: Faith and the First Amendment

The Harvard Community Seminar presents Faith and the First Amendment, an interdisciplinary conversation about religious liberty and the place of faith in American public life. Bringing together perspectives from constitutional law, education, medicine, and political thought, the discussion will explore how questions of faith and religious freedom arise across institutions and professional life. Panelists will consider how faith-based communities can engage institutions within the law and how ideas of covenant, obligation, and productive disagreement can inform our understanding of religious freedom. The conversation will examine both the protections afforded by the First Amendment and the broader question of how we live and work together across religious differences in American democracy.
